ADULT PROGRAMS

Parks & Recreation offers various programs and activities throughout the year for adults.  From adult sports leagues like Adult Basketball and Volleyball to specialty fitness classes, 5k races, triathlons and US Master’s Swimming.  Check back often for updates on upcoming activities.

Unless otherwise noted, to register for any program listed please complete an Activity Registration Form and email it to the Parks & Recreation Department (please call to make payment by credit card) or you can print it off, sign it and mail it or drop it off along with payment (do NOT email the form to the address listed on the form…we are having problems receiving emails to this address from some people).  You may also choose to print the form off, fill it out by hand and drop it off or mail to the Parks & Recreation Department.  If you fill it out online and email it in, you must use a digital signature to sign the form.  Just follow the instructions when you click on the signature line.  If you cannot click on the signature line and create a digital signature, try opening the document in Windows Explorer.

ADULT BASKETBALL LEAGUES – CLICK HERE TO REGISTER ONLINE

Hoop it up this spring in Parks & Rec adult basketball leagues!  Form a team at your church or get your friends or co-workers together & enter a team in the Open League.  Church league players must be 16 yrs old or older.  All teams guaranteed a minimum of 8 games.  DEADLINE:  MARCH 10

DIVISIONS

  • Adult Open League: Competitive league with good skill level. Participants must be 16 yrs old or older. This league will be played on Sunday afternoons.
  • Church League: Players must attend the church they are playing for & church staff must approve the roster. Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. 

GENERAL INFORMATION: 

  • $400/team
  • All teams are guaranteed a minimum of 8 Games (Parks & Rec Staff determine format)
  • Teams must wear matching jerseys with numbers. Reversible jerseys are preferred.
  • Maximum of 15 players per roster
  • Make-up games may be played any day of the week
  • League and Tourney champs receive 10 t-shirts
  • Rosters are due no later than prior to the first game & must be signed by every player. (Players must be at least 16 yrs old to participate. Parent’s signature required for those under age 18).

Dates:

  • Adult League begins March 19
  • Church League play begins March 21

ADULT MIX VOLLEYBALL – CLICK HERE TO REGISTER ONLINE

Play volleyball in a fun, social environment with other adults!  All levels welcome!  This 10 week “pick-up” league meets from 7-9 PM at Falling Springs on Sunday evenings.  The gym is set-up with volleyball nets and when you arrive a coordinator will check you in, put teams together & assign courts.  For the next 2 hours, as matches are completed, teams rotate & play other teams.  You’ll play tons of volleyball, meet & play with new people & have tons of fun!  For general questions or more information, contact Chanté at 873-5948.

BEYOND BARRE – CLICK HERE TO REGISTER ONLINE

Barre is one of the hottest fitness trends today and these classes WILL fill quickly, so don’t wait till tomorrow to register…do it today!!

Barre-based classes use a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga & Pilates.  The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements.  Classes may also incorporate light weights to bring the burn during all those reps, as well as mats for targeted core work.

ADAPTIVE AQUATICS PROGRAM

The Versailles-Woodford County Parks & Recreation Department’s Adaptive Swim Lessons Program is offered to any child or adult with special needs.  The goal of this program is to provide our students with a structured aquatic experience designed to make them feel comfortable and safe while swimming.

The program is designed to serve all ability levels by incorporating a “Learn-to-Swim” progression for individuals with physical, neurological, developmental and cognitive impairments. Participants are taught swim skills, water safety and independence.

LIFEGUARD, CPR, FIRST AID & COACHES TRAINING COURSES

You never know when an emergency will arise. Maybe it will be someone you know, maybe it’s a stranger, but when that time comes, will you know what to do?

Parks & Recreation is pleased to offer a variety of Safety Courses to meet the needs of our community. From professional Lifeguard Training to lay responder courses for coaches, teachers, parents, babysitters and others, Parks & Recreation can prepare you to be prepared in an emergency!

COURSE OFFERINGS:

  • Lifeguard Certification Course (must be 15 years old by the last day of class).  Click here for details.
  • Coaches’ Safety Training (Ages 18 & up)
  • First Aid / CPR / AED (Ages 15 & up)

PERSONAL TRAINING & PRIVATE LESSONS
